Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Quiet Cats is an online service run by Singularity Foundation LLC (“We”, “Us”, or “Our”). This Privacy Policy describes what information Quiet Cats collects, how it is used, and what never leaves your device. It supplements the Singularity Foundation Privacy Policy, which covers all of our services.
1. YOUR CONVERSATIONS
- The AI runs on your device. What you type, the files you attach, and the replies are processed inside your browser. They are never sent to us or to any AI company.
- Saved chats are encrypted in your browser. If you are signed in and ghost mode is off, chats are saved to your account so you can come back to them. Before a chat leaves your browser, it is encrypted (AES-GCM) with a key that is unique to your account. Our database stores only the encrypted form, along with which cat you chatted with and when.
- How the encryption key is protected. Your account's key is stored on our servers, itself encrypted with a separate master key that is kept outside the database. This means a leaked copy of the database reveals no chat content. It is not end-to-end encryption: someone with full control of our servers could in principle decrypt saved chats. If you would rather nothing be saved, use ghost mode.
- Ghost mode saves nothing. Chats in ghost mode, and all chats while signed out, exist only in the open page and are gone when you leave it.
- You can delete saved chats at any time, one by one or all at once from Settings. Deleted chats are removed from our database.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
- Account: when you sign in, our sign-in provider gives us your email address, name, and an account identifier.
- Settings: your app preferences, such as light or dark mode, reply style, selected cat, and ghost mode.
- Subscription: if you join the Chonk Club, Paddle tells us your Paddle customer ID and the status and renewal date of your subscription. We never see your payment card.
- Saved chats: encrypted, as described above.
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, which we use for security and to keep the service running.
Quiet Cats also keeps some information in your own browser: your settings, a copy of your account summary so the app works offline, notes about which model sizes fit your device, and the downloaded model files. This stays on your device. You can remove the models from Settings, or remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Quiet Cats does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
3. USE OF INFORMATION
- To set up and maintain your account and save your settings and chats
- To provide the Chonk Club subscription and handle billing
- To keep the Services secure and running
4. SERVICE PROVIDERS
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. We use these service providers, which only process information as needed to perform their functions:
- Auth0: sign-in and account management.
- Paddle: payments and subscriptions, as our Merchant of Record.
- Google Cloud and MongoDB Atlas: hosting for our servers and database.
Your browser also contacts some services directly. It downloads the AI models from Hugging Face, and loads the app's AI library and fonts from the jsDelivr and Google Fonts content networks. Like any download, these services can see your IP address and which files were requested, but not your conversations.
5. COOKIES
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, plus a short-lived cookie while you sign in. We do not use tracking cookies.
6. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You can use Quiet Cats without an account, use ghost mode, and delete your saved chats at any time. To request a copy of your data, or permanent deletion of your account and personal data, contact support@singularity-foundation.com. Your rights under the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws are described in the Singularity Foundation Privacy Policy, and apply to Quiet Cats as well.
7. DATA LOCATION
Our servers and databases are operated in the United States. If you use Quiet Cats from outside the United States, your account information and encrypted chats may be stored in the United States.
8. POLICY TOWARDS CHILDREN
Quiet Cats is not directed to minors, and our Terms of Service prohibit use by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Notify support@singularity-foundation.com of any such information, and we will delete it promptly.
9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was most recently revised.
